A few questions
We take a short medical history at reception. Tell us about any medication you take, allergies, pregnancy or conditions like diabetes, since all of it changes how we treat you.
A proper look
The dentist examines your teeth, gums and bite, and takes an X-ray if something needs a closer look. This is also when you point out whatever has been bothering you.
What we found
You get told what is going on in plain language, what needs doing now, what can wait, and what each part costs. Ask as many questions as you like.
Getting it done

Do I need an appointment or can I just walk in?
You can walk in and we will fit you in where we can, though you may wait. Booking by phone or WhatsApp gets you a set time and a shorter wait, especially on Saturday mornings.
I have a bad toothache. Can you see me today?
Call us on 0713 345 700 and say it is pain rather than a routine check-up. We keep room in the day for emergencies and will get you in as soon as we can during opening hours.
Do you handle dental emergencies?
Yes. If you have a broken tooth, a swelling, bleeding that will not settle or pain that kept you awake, call and say it is an emergency. We hold space in the day for exactly this. Anything that affects your breathing or swallowing needs a hospital casualty department first, then us.
How much does a check-up or cleaning cost?
It depends on what your teeth actually need, so we would rather quote you honestly than post a figure here that turns out to be wrong. Call or WhatsApp us, describe the problem, and we will give you a realistic range before you come in.
How often should I have a dental check-up?
Twice a year suits most people. Come more often if you smoke, if your gums bleed when you brush, if you are in braces, or if the dentist has asked to keep an eye on something.
Do you treat children?
Yes. We see children for check-ups, fluoride, sealants, fillings and baby tooth extractions. Bring them early, before anything hurts, so the first memory of a dental chair is a boring one.
Does a root canal hurt?
The tooth is numbed first, so the treatment itself feels like having a filling done. What hurts is the infection you arrive with. Most people feel considerably better once it is over.
